2d Orc Sword Slash

Thursday 7th May 2015 Session Review C ontinuing from yesterday afternoon I proceeded to begin my sequence for orc slash. I simply continued to place each frame in order and clean the quality of the image by erasing any extra pen marks for each sketch. Once the animation cycle was completed I had asked my colleague Georgi to grant me a critical opinion and he suggested perhaps including a gradient for the last two frames of the orc swinging the sword. This was an excellent suggestion since the gradient applied an illusion of movement from the sword. Once i submitted the previous week's animations including the sword slash for class review my lecturer and other fellow colleagues suggested, as usual, I needed to create the in-between movements for the roman soldier defensive stance and the same for the max character animations. Line of Action Experimentation

Tuesday 28th April 2015 Session Review Line of Action fist swing reference D uring this evening session, I have been continuing my study of the line of action and moving a character in arcs by creating my second version of a character jumping in the air and slamming his fists on the ground.  Unlike my first attempt on the twenty-sixth of April, I did not fully understand the line of action for a character slamming their fists to the ground although I found another sprite sheet of Superman from the mobile game Superman and Batman: Heroes United, to use as a visual reference along with my Week 2 presentation on Drawing lines of action and the walk cycle. Maya Troll Lip Sync Session 2

Thursday 9th April 2015 Session Review Quick render of the trolls lip sync D uring today's session I returned to the troll character I obtained from animation 101 and began to search for additional visual references, still currently from the Lord of the Ring trilogy. In particular, I found a scene from the Fellowship of The Ring where the character Sauruman talks to his newest Uruk-hai creation Lurtz. The studied the facial expressions in Lurtz's the face was magnificent since I observed how his nostrils flared open when he said the name "SARUUMAAN"; furthermore, as each letter was delayed his head tilted back slightly and rose up displaying he takes great pride in saying this name. After making my observations of Lurtz I returned to the troll model in Maya and looked under the list of rigged features and sadly the character had no nostrils and currently to my knowledge I cannot find any toll to animate his cheeks.
