Goblin 2d Walk Cycle Session 3

Wednesday 8th April 2015 Session Review D uring this session, I have managed to successfully create my goblin walk cycle which is indeed perhaps one if my best  2d animations since I reflected on the feedback my lecturer had given me for all of my 2d animations and the advice was for me to draw the in-between frames for my animations. In this walk cycle the movement of both the legs and arms are smooth and transitions to each keyframe beautifully; however I also noticed that the goblins head size increases and decreases this is due to a lack of constancy for his head which can easily be fixed by copying the first head or resizing frames with smaller heads. I also returned to the troll model and decided to initiate the creation of a lip sync by applying an Orc or Uruk-hai line form the Lord of Rings Trilogy. By Sebastian Jones

2d Attack and Death Cycle:Kicking and Dying

Sunday 26th  April 2015 Session Review During today's session I reviewed my current collection of animations and browsed through the A3 assessment criteria I took from the class in week tens Thursday’s session. I realized despite the fact that there was some variety of 3d and 3d the animations were still just walk cycles and lip syncs and most of the movement we discussed in previous class sessions. This would be boring so I decided if I created more attack animations such as my 2d Orc attack yesterday I could combine those attacking animations with hand drawn dying animations and render each separately; however then combine both an attack animation with a dying one to create a scene of a character killing another character thus creating more seconds for my twenty one second time goal. Maya Troll Lip Sync Session 2

Thursday 9th April 2015 Session Review Quick render of the trolls lip sync D uring today's session I returned to the troll character I obtained from animation 101 and began to search for additional visual references, still currently from the Lord of the Ring trilogy. In particular, I found a scene from the Fellowship of The Ring where the character Sauruman talks to his newest Uruk-hai creation Lurtz. The studied the facial expressions in Lurtz's the face was magnificent since I observed how his nostrils flared open when he said the name "SARUUMAAN"; furthermore, as each letter was delayed his head tilted back slightly and rose up displaying he takes great pride in saying this name. After making my observations of Lurtz I returned to the troll model in Maya and looked under the list of rigged features and sadly the character had no nostrils and currently to my knowledge I cannot find any toll to animate his cheeks.
