Session Review

After previously successfully scanning Monty's walk cycle sheet, I have scanned and transferred the frames into Photoshop and begin to clean them up.

Sunday 26th  April 2015 Session Review During today's session I reviewed my current collection of animations and browsed through the A3 assessment criteria I took from the class in week tens Thursday’s session. I realized despite the fact that there was some variety of 3d and 3d the animations were still just walk cycles and lip syncs and most of the movement we discussed in previous class sessions. This would be boring so I decided if I created more attack animations such as my 2d Orc attack yesterday I could combine those attacking animations with hand drawn dying animations and render each separately; however then combine both an attack animation with a dying one to create a scene of a character killing another character thus creating more seconds for my twenty one second time goal. 2d Animation Refinement and Rendering

Wednesday 29th April 2015 Session Review Final kick render by Sebastian Jones D uring today’s session I am simply digitising my hand drawn frames and increasing the quality of the scanned images in Adobe Photoshop CC. In addition the kick animations that I drew on Sunday’s session I have had to repeat frame one, twice at the end. The reason for this is because as the character kicks and then slowly brings his leg down there was must be a pause long enough for the eye to notice he has rested from his action. I have to repeat frames for the spear throw animation as well. In addition, the spear throw animation is my first attempt at trying to create anticipation as I mentioned in Mondays log. Line of Action Experimentation

Tuesday 28th April 2015 Session Review Line of Action fist swing reference D uring this evening session, I have been continuing my study of the line of action and moving a character in arcs by creating my second version of a character jumping in the air and slamming his fists on the ground.  Unlike my first attempt on the twenty-sixth of April, I did not fully understand the line of action for a character slamming their fists to the ground although I found another sprite sheet of Superman from the mobile game Superman and Batman: Heroes United, to use as a visual reference along with my Week 2 presentation on Drawing lines of action and the walk cycle.
