Session Review

After previously successfully scanning Monty's walk cycle sheet, I have scanned and transferred the frames into Photoshop and begin to clean them up.

Goblin 2d Lip Sync Session 1

Wednesday 15th April 2015 Session Review C ontinuing from yesterday’s chimpanzee study I have decided to put that study on hold because the walk itself is using all fours despite a chimpanzee being a humanoid biped. The reason for this is the brief stated we were to produce a series of animations entirely for human bipeds which I assume also means the character walking using two legs not his arms as well. As I have begun drawing the frames for my 2d goblin lip sync, I started to realize that some key mouth frames were similar so for the efficiency of time I decided to annotate my work and state that some frames could be re-used and repeated for certain letter poses. Concluding this session for today I have begun to colour and shade the goblin faces via Adobe Photoshop CC. Line of Action Experimentation

Tuesday 28th April 2015 Session Review Line of Action fist swing reference D uring this evening session, I have been continuing my study of the line of action and moving a character in arcs by creating my second version of a character jumping in the air and slamming his fists on the ground.  Unlike my first attempt on the twenty-sixth of April, I did not fully understand the line of action for a character slamming their fists to the ground although I found another sprite sheet of Superman from the mobile game Superman and Batman: Heroes United, to use as a visual reference along with my Week 2 presentation on Drawing lines of action and the walk cycle. Red Hulk Run Cycle Revisit

Session Review B efore I returned home I wanted to finish my improvements to my red hulk run cycle since the first test render did not successfully create a smooth loop. Once I opened the file I discovered the reason why my the original run cycle was not looping successfully was that Maya had moved the position of the right leg for the passive pose. Setting up the scene in Maya 2015 In addition, my lecturer had discussed with the class and I to use real life footage of human movement instead of CGI and cartoon footage as your official reference material since I would have been mimicking the original animators work and possibly be disciplined for plagiarism. So for my red hulk run I observed the movements of Usain Bolt sprinting on the 100-meter track and witnessed how at the start of the sprint all the athletes bent their spine  and towards the end the sprint the athletes straightened their back and they began to decelerate.
